Northern CA Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly Expo Recap & Name Change!

Disclosure: I received free entry to the Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly Expo in exchange for this post.  My opinions are my own and I was not paid or required to write this review.

As I was starting to write this post some exciting news came out about the Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly Expo series, of which I recently attended the show in Northern CA just before Thanksgiving.  Drumroll please….. New year, new name, and new categories!  Presenting The Nourished Festival!

The new festival will have its usual gluten-free and nut-free sections, but also adding three new zones: Paleo, Keto & Plant-Based. These festivals are a combination of exhibitor booths and educational classes related to gluten-free and allergen-friendly living and a must for those with special diets. Nourished Festivals are the largest special diet consumer events traveling to 10 cities yearly!

Here is a look inside the GFAF Expo I recently attended in Northern CA:

As like last year, Enjoy Life Foods in the main sponsor of this event and their booth is just so much fun!

A shout-out to BFree foods who sponsored a blogger breakfast on Saturday morning!  Those bagels are so good that I crave them and I don’t have to eat gluten-free.  Yum!  Bob’s Red Mill is always a favorite among bakers.  Just a note they have tree nuts and soy in their facility and in some of their products.  Zelle Organic fruit pouches are like grown-up jell-o! And a new brand of nachos that is coming to the U.S.

So many great brands and products to discover and learn about.  Mozaics were a favorite of my daughters last year so I made sure to purchase some additional bags of these chips to take home to her, and she was thrilled!

And this pie!  Pie OH MY!  Raised Gluten Free is so tasty and delicious.  I brought home some of their pie for me (shh!)

Freedom Foods and all of their products are staples in our home.  We all enjoy their delicious cereals!

Some of the other brands included Red Plate Foods, Brazi Bites (which contain egg so I wasn’t able to taste them,) Path of Life, and MyBread.  It was great speaking with the MyBread founder, such a great story and they have some big things ahead!

More of the Enjoy Life Foods products, Kome Food pasta (a new brand coming to the U.S.,) Odd Bagel and Xochitl with a new line of sprouted chips which were so tasty (I brought some of those home for my husband.)

As you can see there were a lot of food brands there and so many samples!  I also got to bring home some food swag and lots of it!  Of course you don’t have to take some of these items if you have allergies.  When something does come home in my bag I make sure to recheck the ingredients again prior to eating.  As you’ll notice there is a bag of nuts in this photo, and I handed those along with some other goodies to our neighbors.

Have you been to one of the GFAF Expos in the past?  I would love to start attending these in other cities!  But if I can’t make it to other cities next year I’ll definitely be back in Northern CA ( San Mateo )  in November.

I really can’t wait for the “new” revamped Nourished Festival next year.  New year, new name, and new categories!
