Namaste Foods Review and Giveaway

Disclosure: I was invited to be in the review group from Namaste Foods and I received product samples for free. My opinions are my own and I was not paid or required to write this review.

Since becoming a food allergy family about a year ago I felt pretty “lost” initially in the grocery store as I wasn’t sure which companies and products I could trust for our family.  I recall the first couple of grocery store visits taking hours as I was reading all the labels trying to determine what products we would be safe for us.  For the most part I left defeated as labeling in the U.S. isn’t “so great” for lack of other words.  And since we have a couple rarer allergies in our families I left the store with a list of companies to call and research further.

I was so happy when I discovered Namaste Foods who label well and made my life a tad easier and gave me a feeling of hope.  Upon trying their array of products  I found them to not only be tasty by allergy standards but by ‘regular’ standards too.  If you haven’t heard of Namaste Foods they have a range of 23 gluten-free products from bread mix to brownie mix to pasta pisavera dinner and coating mixes.   NamasteFoodsColorTag

They are all GMO-free and do not contain wheat, gluten, corn, soy, potato, dairy, casein, tree nuts or peanuts, and are made in a dedicated allergen-free facility and – they are seriously mouth-watering!

Here’s what Namaste has to say about their products “Worry-free products – Our facility contains no wheat, gluten, corn, soy, potato, dairy, peanuts or tree nuts. It is our attempt to try to eliminate any chance of cross-contamination so you can enjoy Namaste Foods products worry-free. We use NO genetically modified ingredients in any of our products and yes, all Namaste Food products are Kosher Certified.” I was excited to review some of their products recently including the waffle and pancake mix, coating mixes, soups, and (their amazing) pizza crust mix.

Waffle & Pancake Mix

BusyBeeKate-NamasteFoods-Waffle&PancakeMixThe Waffle & Pancake Mix makes 2 batches and is easy to use, you just add eggs (or flax eggs,) oil, and water or rice milk.

The ingredients in the mix are: Sweet Rice Flour, Tapioca Flour, Arrowroot Flour, Rice Milk Powder, Cream of Tartar, Xanthan Gum, Baking Soda, Salt and Vanilla.

Since we cannot have eggs I use the flax egg as the substitute which is just 1 egg= 1 Tbsp Flaxseed Meal & 3 Tbsp water.

The pancakes turned out light and fluffy with a hint of pure vanilla.  I added blueberry’s to the mix, which made them absolutely delicious!!  My daughter and I loved them.  As an added bonus the mix is free of sugar.

You can also add other flavors like cinnamon, apples, bananas, or chocolate chips for a treat! BusyBeeKate-NamasteFoods-Waffle&PancakeMix-Pancakes

Italian Herb Coating Mix

Next up for an easy weeknight dinner I decided to make a herb rubbed turkey breast using the Italian Herb Coating Mix in the crockpot.  What a simple and tasty meal!   Each box of mix contains two seasoning packets and two shaker bags.

The mix is easy to use, you just moisten the meat or veggies in water, milk, slightly beaten egg, buttermilk or ranch dressing and the coat.  I decided to use water and coat.  First I added the carrots into the bottom of the crockpot, then the potatoes and turkey breast on top.  I put into the crockpot on low for about 6 hours.   BusyBeeKate-NamasteFoods-ItalianHerbSeasoning The turkey, carrots, and potatoes turned out so delicious.  We loved the taste of the mix which is the perfect blend of Italian herbs and spices.  I also paired with some green peas to round out the meal.  My daughter loved this too! Hearty Vegetable Soup

For a quick afternoon meal these soups are wonderful and they are also great for travel or work, since all you need to add in is water. BusyBeeKate-NamasteFoods-Soups My favorite of the three was the Hearty Vegetable Soup.  This is a very savory vegetable soup with brown rice noodles and chocked full of veggies! Pizza Crust Mix

My favorite of all of the mixes is the Pizza Crust Mix.  Here are the items I used to make a delicious Spinach and Mushroom pizza. BusyBeeKate-NamasteFoods-PizzaSupplies For the Pizza Crust Mix you just need to add oil and water and beat for 3 minutes.  So simple! BusyBeeKate-NamasteFoods-PizzaMixing Since Valentine’s Day is coming up I decided to make my crust into a heart shape which was so easy to do with the mix. BusyBeeKate-NamasteFoods-PizzaShaped I sautéed mushrooms and spinach to add on top of tomato sauce and cheese.   BusyBeeKate-NamasteFoods-PizzaBefore I couldn’t wait to try this pizza after I pulled it out of the oven and my daughter was so excited to see her first heart-shaped pizza!

This was the best at-home pizza crust I have tasted – better than others with gluten even, and I am thinking about making some cheesy breadsticks with the mix next time!  I love how easy this was to make with just adding oil and water.   BusyBeeKate-NamasteFoods-PizzaHeartShaped2 The crust has a wonderful gourmet flavor with a blend of nine herbs and spices. It is delicious with tomato or pesto sauce and all of your favorite toppings.  You can also just bake and top with parmesan cheese for delicious bread sticks.  The Crust is free of yeast and sugar, too! The mixes are easy to work with, budget-friendly, and most of all not only tasty by allergen food standards but by regular food standards.

If you aren’t sure if your local grocery store carries Namaste products you can locate them via their website and you can also purchase their items directly from the site.  I highly recommend their products –  It’s so nice to feel “normal” and not have to worry about putting my allergy family at risk.

Remember their facility contains no wheat, gluten, corn, soy, potato, dairy, peanuts or tree nuts.  The use NO genetically modified ingredients in any of their products and they are Kosher Certified. NamasteBanner

I’d try any really, I love anything cheesy. I’m suspicious of me possibly having a sensitivity to gluten, so being able to try these would be awesome.

Hi There! I would love to try that pizza mix! I love that heart-shaped pizza. Maybe I should make that for my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day instead of the dinner I was planning on making 😀 We both eat gluten-free and are in LOVE with pizza (who isn’t, right?!) Thanks so much for hosting!
