Five Things {Weekly Link-Up Party} – July 4th Activity Round-Up

Is it July already!?  Seriously, where did June go.  July 4th is just a day away and we’re planning on celebrating the day with family and spending some time outdoors.

We love the outdoors – exploring parks, nature, walking, the zoo – but sometimes you need a break from the sun, so for this weeks five things link-up with The World Around Her and Little Miss Mama I’m sharing some fun sit-down July 4th activities to do with kids over this long weekend that don’t include the sun or the outdoors.  Enjoy these fun crafts and games that you can do indoors after a long day spent outside!

1. Time to go through your construction paper deck and pull out those red, white, and blue pages for this paper chain American flag.  So festive, super easy, and the kids will enjoy making this for sure!

2. This Tic Tac Toe game is fun to make and fun to play.  Just get three in a row and you win!

3. “Don’t Eat {Uncle} Sam” is such a cute game to play, and available here.  Children seem to love this game and it’s easy to teach and can hold their attention for just long enough.

4.  Grab some pencils and crayons for these Fourth of July Activity Sheets which are perfect for keeping the kids occupied as you’re getting your barbecue under way.

5. Make sure you have extra paper plates (or white coffee filters work too) on hand for this flag project.  I love how festive these look and adults enjoy making them too, and has a bonus after you are finished making them, hang them up for instant holiday decorations!

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Love, Kate
