I have a small business called Vintage Vinyl Journals where I make journals out of old albums and album covers and I have a ton of album covers leftover that aren’t using in journal making. And since I love to upcycle, so using album record covers in craft projects is both eco-friendly and fun. Check out these decor balls made out of old record covers that I made recently.
For this project I decided to make some fun Christmas Tree Decor ornaments from the vintage record covers.
The supplies you’ll need for this project are listed below {and shown on the below graphic}:
– Old Record Cover Inserts (or any other paper you’d like to use)
– Scissors
– Hole Punch
– String for Hanging
– Pencil
– Spray Glitter
The first step is to take the album cover and draw your design. I decided to make my ornaments into stars, but any shape you desire would work.
Cut out the stars!
After cutting them out, punch a hole in the top.
Thread your string for hanging.
Now take your spray glitter and spray both sides of the ornament. This can get messy, be sure to put newspaper or paper down as this can get messy!
Here’s a look before the spray glitter dried.
And the other side.
I continued this process and then sprayed all of the ornaments at once.
Here’s a final look at them!
I added these onto our tree and I love how they turned out.
And because Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas “without you” – I mean Elvis!
What a simple, fun and easy way to add a vintage and upcycled feel to your tree this year.
It was so much fun to go through my old record covers and find great patterns like the ribbon below.
The deers are probably my favorite of the bunch!
This is absolutely too cute! And to think I had to pitch mine when I had to move abruptly.
