Babsy B Board Book Series – Review

Disclosure: I was invited to be in the review group by the author and received a copy of these books for free.  My opinions are my own and I was not paid or required to write this review.

BabsyBbooks1I am so excited to write this review because my daughter hasn’t put down her Babsy B Board Book Series since we received them in the mail last week!

These new research-based Board Book series specifically targets infants and toddlers 0–3+ and was just launched by Babs Bell Hajdusiewicz who is committed to helping every parent and caregiver feel confident as their child’s 1st and best teacher.  Her bestselling children’s titles include Don’t Go Out in Your Underwear!—a collection of 64 kid-selected poems and songs by Babs.

The new series includes 8 titles that help to encourage curiosity, build vocabulary and knowledge of the world, and help support children’s oral language development.

The 8 titles in the Babsy B Board Book Series are:

SO BIG!(age 0+)
Where Is Monkey?(age 0+)
Who Chews? (age 1+)
I Can! Can You (age 1+)
VROOM! Honka! BOOM! (age 2+)
Whose Shoes? (age 2+) I’m 3! (age 3+)
Giddy-up! Let’s Go! (age 3+)

I’m a huge advocate of reading and I started reading to my daughter even before she was born.  As an infant this tread continued and now as a toddler reading is one of her favorite activities.  Each morning and each evening we start and end our day with about a dozen books, and throughout the day we read another dozen or more too!

Since these books have arrived I’ve noticed she loves three of them the most: Where Is Monkey?, VROOM! Honka! BOOM!, and Giddy-up! Let’s Go!

These books are so much fun and definitely span the 0-3+ age group!

Each book includes supplemental activities and a sing-along tune to make read-alouds fun and interactive.  The sing-along tunes are great.

Where is Monkey?  is such a fun book to read to infants onward.  Using simple black & white graphics and a catchy song sung to the tune of “Are You Sleeping?” my daughter and I have read this many, many times already!  Here’s a view of the inside of this one:

You can head over to the Babsy B Youtube page to sing-along with Babs (photo shown to the right) herself too.  She seems so sweet and my daughter loved watching her turn the pages and sing along with us. There are also additional activities on the backs of the books.

My favorite of the books is probably VROOM! Honka! BOOM! because my daughter is at the age where she wants to help her Mom with everything she is doing, including vacuuming.   The words are catchy and I find myself singing them throughout the day, especially when I’m cleaning! “Push-a vacuum. Pull-a vacuum. VROOM! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!”  What a great verse and lovely graphics and colors inside this book!

Giddy-up! Let’s Go!  keeps you and your child guessing till the end of where they are going….  great story and beautiful artwork!

What fun books that keep your child engaged, learning and you feel like you are really reading with them.  I love how excited my daughter gets when she comes running to me carrying one of the  Babsy B Board Book Series books saying “Mommy, read.”

Makes for a proud Mom moment knowing that she’s eager to read, learn, and explore the world, and that this new book series is helping to foster that within her.

The series now has a place on our bookshelves.  Be sure to pick yours up here and leave a comment letting me know how you and your children like the books, you won’t be disappointed.
