Welcome to Day 9 of my 12 Days of Allergy-Friendly Favorites!  (If you missed the last seven days, check them out here: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5Day 6, Day 7, Day 8.) Throughout these 12 days I am sharing some of my favorite products and companies with you.  Some of these make wonderful gifts to someone with food allergies (or a parent,) and show that you really care about them and their food allergies.   Please note I was not paid to write about any of these companies and all opinions are my own.

(While this is a guide to help you with gift ideas, please always do your own research and to use this article as an aid when choosing what foods, products, and companies are safe for you, your (food allergy) family, and friends with food allergies.  The author makes no claims regarding the presence of food allergens and disclaims all liability in connection with the use of this article and site.)

Are you missing peanut butter?  Is your childs school nut-free and you’re looking for another sandwich option?  Personally I love peanut butter, but having a daughter with a peanut allergy means it is strictly off limits in our home.  I never thought I’d find a replacement, but there are now some great alternatives to nut butters that are all peanut and tree nut free and taste delicious!  Check out my favorites:

  • Don’t Go Nuts -Don’t Go Nuts makes a line of no-nut butters from soybeans that are made in a completely nut, egg, and sesame free facility, and are certified gluten-free.  They carry chocolate, slightly sweet, cinnamon sugar, pure unsalted and lightly sea salted versions.  Find out where it is carried using their store locator.

  • Sneaky Chef – The Sneaky Chef No-Nut Butters are made from naturally sweet and “nutty” tasting golden peas (a legume.) It is a delicious peanut butter alternative, without a trace of peanuts, tree nuts, seeds, or soy.  They also make a chocolate version as well and on the website you can find a coupon for your next purchase, recipes, and a store locator is available on their facebook page.

  • Sunbutter -SunButter Sunflower Butter is free from peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, egg, gluten, and sesame and they have a wide variety of options including creamy, chunky, no salt added, and organic.  SunButter is made in the U.S. from locally-grown, specially-roasted, GMO free sunflower seeds, which are processed in a dedicated peanut free and tree nut free facility. Also good to know that sunflower seeds are grown in a region of the country where peanuts are not grown, eliminating the risk of cross contamination.  They also have some great recipes on their site and a store locator.

  • WowButter –  WowButter is made from soy and is peanut free, tree nut free, gluten free and dairy free. This product is produced in a dedicated facility that manufactures only soy products.   They carry both a creamy and crunch version.  Search for recipes here and check out the store locator on their site (see top menu and select your region.)
